MARINA MAIA MEIRELES
I’m a Senior Art Director at AKQA. I make a living having ideas,
and have learned that staring at a blank page is technically part of the job.
In earlier chapters, I somehow opened an international dance festival
half-naked (I can’t dance), organised student movement caravans
before I was legally an adult, and worked as a costume designer.
I’ve also walked into the reflecting pool of Brazil’s National Congress. It’s a long story.
I feel at home by the sea, and believe
there’s something divine in nature. I’m usually trying to keep my plants alive,
get closer to the ocean, or find a little faith in the chaos.
My work has been recognised by Young Lions. My dance skills have yet to be.
